This porcelain platter is wheel-thrown. Its decoration is inspired by coastal memories, and realities such as climate change, coastal erosion, and marine litter. Shoreline waste is repurposed to make tools for abstact mark-making to create colourful motifs and effects reflecting the coastal landscape.

About this maker
Juliet Macleod makes wheel-thrown porcelain that imparts an evocative exploration of the Scottish coast. Using a distillation of drawings and photographs made over many years, she creates contemplative pieces which hope to engage the viewer and spark their own memories.
